Based on a five-year research project directed by Dr. Maribel Aponte from the University of Puerto Rico in coordination with researchers and government officials in Cuba.

"The content is organized conceptually, in the following categories: [disc] 1. Restructuring of the existing business forms and practices (in the formal economy, without redistribution of state property). Looks from within the State enterprise or city and organized industry. [disc] 2. Social policies. Forms and practices that are preserved or disrupted (selection). Jokes and songs that comment on the processes and situations. Business and social forms and practices (in the informal economy which redefine the economy and redistribute income). [disc] 3. New business forms and practices (in the formal economy that redefine and redistribute property and income). [disc] 4. New forms and practices (in the formal economy that redefine property right's benefits and redistribute income but don't redistribute property). From State farms to agribusiness's and agricultural cooperatives. New institutional forms and practices (in the formal and informal economy, that redefine and redistribute property and income)."

Filmed during 2001 and 2004, this is a unique collection of videos on business and social practices in Cuba. The films differ on other works on the Cuban economy in that they don't approach the subject from a dictatorship-democracy political perspective. Secondly, it is written from the perspective of those who experience these processes from within Cuba, and thirdly it approaches the macro and micro levels when treating the subjects.
